Philippine Association of Nutrition, Inc. (PAN) Forum

“Perspectives and Challenges: Honing Nutrition Leaders of Tomorrow”

The Philippine Association of Nutrition, Inc. (Mother Chapter), together with Energen, hosted the PAN Forum last December 2, 2015 at Balay Kalinaw, University of The Philippines-Diliman, Quezon City, with the theme “Perspectives and Challenges: Honing Nutrition Leaders of Tomorrow”. This forum aims to develop leadership skills of nutrition students, who, in the future, will be the front liners in addressing nutrition problems in the country. The forum also intends to establish camaraderie among members of different PAN student chapters. The event was spearheaded by 2nd Vice President Dr. Leonora N. Panlasigui and Ms. Rhea C. Benavides-de Leon.

The forum was graced by members of the different student chapters, their respective advisers, as well as officers and board members of the PAN Mother Chapter headed by PAN President Dr. Gemiliano DL. Aligui. This year, the PAN Forum was attended by 80 individuals from different universities and chapters: PAN-Alpha (University of the Philippines-Diliman), PAN Alpha-Epsilon (Polytechnic University of the Philippines), PAN Alpha-Omega (University of the Philippines-Los Baños), PAN Alpha-Zeta (Far Eastern University-Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation), PAN Beta (Philippine Women’s University), PAN Beta-Zeta (Benguet State University), PAN Delta (Centro Escolar University), PAN Delta-Phi (University of Perpetual Help System), PAN Delta-Zeta (Manila Tytana Colleges), PAN Gamma (St. Scholastica’s College), PAN Omega (University of Santo Tomas), PAN Psi-Gamma (Colegio de San Juan de Letran), PAN Sigma (University of the East), and PAN Theta-Zeta (Our Lady of Fatima University).


To ensure success of the forum, several student chapters were given an assigned task. The PAN Delta Chapter of the Centro Escolar University was assigned in the registration and reception while PAN Alpha of the University of the Philippines-Diliman was responsible for the venue and physical arrangement. The PAN Beta of the Philippine Women’s University (PWU) was assigned to do the documentation and evaluation.
